Celtics Sign Brickowski

Frank Brickowski fell for the Boston Celtics mystique when he was a teenage counselor at Red Auerbach’s basketball camp. At 37, he will try to restore the franchise to its former glory.

“I’ve always had a dream to play for the Celtics,” the journeyman center-forward said after signing a one-year deal reportedly worth $1.7 million. “Maybe the team isn’t on top right now, but the organization has had a lot of success.

The Continental Basketball Association is scouting Nampa, Idaho, as a possible site for a team that would call the Idaho Events Center home.

The Cleveland Cavaliers signed 7-foot-3, 258-pound center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, their first-round draft pick, to a three-year deal. Ilgauskas, the 20th pick from Lithuania, signed a deal worth approximately $2.5 million.
