Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: In the bottom of your trash can, put several bags under the bag being used. When I’m cleaning I don’t have to walk all around the house doing the “trash thing,” as the bags are already there. It also helps save room from your cabinets, not having a big box of bags to store. - Rebecca Nichols, Lurton, Ark.

Also, put those used dryer sheets under trash bags in the bottom of the trash can to help curb odors. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: The best way to deodorize your microwave is this: When you take your food out, leave the door slightly open. Do not latch it.

It works every time. - Kathryn McCracken, Mira Loma, Calif.

Dear Heloise: Scrape your fingernails across a bar of soap before weeding or working in the garden. Cleanup will be much easier. - Ingrid Holdorff, Alvin, Texas
