Sagan Working On Messiah Screenplay

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Carl Sagan is working on a screenplay about the cultural, religious, political and scientific implications of a potential messiah in the approaching millennium.

Fox 2000 has paid high-six figures to acquire the treatment for the screenplay, written with Sagan’s partner Ann Druyan. Titled “Elijah,” the story is also expected to examine the nature of skepticism and belief.

Sagan and Druyan’s credits include the “Cosmos” TV series. Sagan’s books include “Dragons of Eden”; “Cosmos,” the best-selling nonfiction science book; and “The Demon Haunted World.”
