Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I kept my tubes of leftover lipstick, waiting for a good pill-sized container to place them in.

My search was over when I noticed how many plastic contact-lens cases I had. (I change them out monthly.) They are two-sided and compact with screw tops. I took a makeup paddle and scooped out the remaining lipstick and placed it in each cup. I use a lip brush to apply it.

I then took matching nail polish and painted the tops to help identify the colors without opening them. I also found that by placing different colors in each cup, I could do a mix just like the professionals!

If you have a friend who wears contacts, don’t be afraid to ask; he or she may have a few extra cases around.

I knew that I was saving them for something! - Brenda Wooley, Cabot, Ark.
