Big Creek Road Open Once Again

From Staff Reports

Big Creek Road, also know as Forest Service Road 2354, has reopened to the public after the February floods damaged parts of it.

The popular access road winds up to Lake Elsie and up along the St. Joe River and Coeur d’Alene River drainage divide. It’s now accessible by all vehicles, said Carl Ritchie, special use person for the Forest Service’s Wallace Ranger Station.

The station received more than two dozen calls about the road, including an inquiry from Republican Congressman Helen Chenoweth’s staff, Ritchie said.

The road can be accessed from Exit 54 off Interstate 90 in the Silver Valley. , DataTimes
