Ellie Chambers Certified As Economic Developer

Ellie Chambers, an economic development specialist with Washington Water Power in Coeur d’Alene, has earned the designation of certified economic developer after passing the American Economic Development Council’s certification exam.

Chambers, who has been with WWP since 1991, gained the designation after passing an intense three-part exam and is responsible for programs designed specifically for economic growth in communities served by WWP.

Bob Froman, from Knudtsen Chevrolet in Coeur d’Alene, has earned the top honor as the best in his chapter in Chevrolet’s Professional Service Council Regional competition held recently.

Froman, whose chapter was one of 42 nationwide competing, had an excellent performance in criteria that included customer satisfaction survey response scores, high exam scores and special training.

Jeryl Archer, a Kootenai Fire Protection District employee and volunteer Post Falls firefighter, was named the Idaho Firefighter of the Year at the American Legion convention held in Lewiston last month.

Archer, who has an estimated 500 hours of training and has participated in 600 fire calls in less than three years, was nominated for the award by his peers due to his great attitude and dedication. He has received the district’s highest honor, the Dedication and Devotion Award, in 1995 and was named Rookie of the Year in 1994.
