Koentopp’s Wife Missing

Compiled From Wire Services

The 42-year-old wife of former Spokane Indians owner Larry Koentopp is reported missing in the Red Rocks recreational area near here.

Espie Koentopp was reported missing by her husband, the former Gonzaga University athletic director and coach who bought the Spokane Indians, then a Pacific Coast League team, and moved them to Las Vegas in 1982.

Koentopp, who returned from a trip last Saturday, found a note from his wife that indicated she had gone hiking, police say.
