Wake Forest’s Tim Duncan had 15 points and seven rebounds and the United States held off a furious rally by Puerto Rico for an 80-78 victory and a berth in the semifinals of the Pan American Under-22 basketball championships.

The U.S. team (3-0), which led 75-64 with 4:07 to play, will play Canada (2-1) tonight. Puerto Rico (2-1) will play Argentina (3-0) in the other semifinal.
