Spokane’s Marc Groskreutz finished second in the opening race of the NASCAR Winter Heat Late Model Stock Car series at Tucson Raceway Park. Groskrueutz trailed the winner, 66-year-old Carl Trimmer of Tucson, by two car lengths in the 150-lap event. Spokane’s Jeff Bird qualified 21st, but had engine trouble and finished 25th.
