Florida quarterback Danny Wuerffel won the Maxwell Award as college football’s most outstanding player in the 1996 College Football Awards Show at Walt Disney World.
Wuerffel also won the Davey O’Brien award as best quarterback and the Honda Scholar-Athlete Award.
Florida strong safety Lawrence Wright was named winner of the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s best defensive back.
