Tari Phillips of the Seattle Reign scored a team-high 18 points and had 11 rebounds for MVP honors and led the West to an 81-65 win over the East at Hartford, Conn., in the first ABL All-Star game.

Phillips combined with Portland’s Natalie Williams for a total of 26 rebounds as the West dominated the boards 70-34. Williams finished with 16 points, all in the second half.

Running Flame moved between horses with less than a furlong to go and drew clear for a two-length victory over Marlin in the $500,000 Hollywood Turf Cup at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Chris McCarron, Running Flame covered 1-1/2 miles on the turf in 2:28 and paid $25.60 to win.
