Freshman Guard Leads St. George’s
High school girls basketball
Sandpoint still had a shot at St. George’s Saturday, until a freshman point guard took her shots.
Wenchi Liu scored 11 fourth-quarter points, six on 3-pointers, to guide the Dragons (3-5) to a 40-22 non-league girls basketball win over visiting Sandpoint (3-7).
Liu added nine steals, five assists and four rebounds for the Dragons, who led by five entering the final quarter. Miranda Routh-Corker of St. George’s added eight rebounds. Sandpoint’s Natalie Ward scored 10.

Freeman held Liberty to 38-percent shooting from the field and shot 26 of 42 (62 percent). Liberty’s Jo Cory had 10 rebounds.
