Spokane Police Seek More Reserve Officers

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Spokane Police Department is looking for more reserve officers.

Reserves are volunteers who work with regular police. People interested in the program can attend a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council chambers at City Hall.

Candidates accepted into the reserve program receive 250 hours of training. They also get uniforms and equipment. They’re trained in patrol procedures, self defense, firearms, driver training and investigations.

Reserve officers are considered fully commissioned when on duty and under the supervision of regular officers. Reserve officers may make arrests only while on duty. , DataTimes
