Taylor Will Appear On Four Consecutive Shows Feb. 26

From Wire Reports

CBS has come up with a dazzling four-show story line that’s Taylor-made for a notable Nielsen night.

The key to the crossover: Elizabeth Taylor, who will appear in all four CBS sitcoms on Feb. 26 (which translates to a two-hour plug for her fragrance line).

Here’s the tale: La Liz, in Gotham to promote her new perfume line, meets with “The Nanny” theater producer Maxwell Sheffield (Charles Shaughnessy) to talk about a role. Asked to have Liz’s priceless pearls delivered to a photo shoot, the nanny (Fran Drescher) takes the string herself but leaves it in a cab.

A half-hour later, “Can’t Hurry Love’s” Annie (Nancy McKeon) finds the necklace, but then it’s stolen. On “Murphy Brown” at 9, Taylor goes one-on-one with Murphy (Candice Bergen) to publicize the theft. At 9:30, “High Society’s” dames (Jean Smart and Mary McDonnell) couldn’t care less, they have problems with their own jewelry.

NBC signs Web soap creators

NBC has confirmed that it has signed the creators of the innovative World Wide Web soap opera “The Spot” to develop an on-line series and a separate pilot script.

Scott Zakarin and Troy Bolotnick are scheduled to have the on-line series ready for launch within six months on the NBC SuperNet, part of the Microsoft Network and NBC’s World Wide Web site. NBC Entertainment has the option to develop it into a broadcast series.

“The Spot” (http:// www.thespot.com) revolves around five young people who live in a house in Los Angeles.
