Pomeroy Keeps State Hopes Alive
Blue Mountain League boys champion Pomeroy kept alive its state tournament hopes Wednesday by beating St. John-Endicott 47-41 during loser-out rounds of the District 9-B Tournament at Washington State University.
Adam McCabe and Jacob Gwinn combined for 11 points in the second quarter, when the Pirates (19-3) established an eight-point lead.
Nick Strader scored 15 for the Eagles (8-17), including five of the team’s seven points in the final quarter.
