Charges Face Nhl Player
Pittsburgh Penguins center Petr Nedved is expected to face a hearing on a sexual assault Wednesday, the day after the Penguins play an NHL game at Vancouver, British Columbia.
The charge is based on allegations by a woman from Coquitlam, a Vancouver suburb, who said Nedved sexually assaulted her in her home in early December 1994.
The New Jersey Devils, seeking help to beef up the second-worst offense in the NHL, acquired offensive-minded defenseman Phil Housley from the Calgary Flames in a five-player deal.
Housley, who previously played in Buffalo, Winnipeg and St. Louis during his 14-year career, came to New Jersey along with defenseman Dan Keczmer for forward Jocelyn Lemieux and defensemen Tommy Albelin and Cale Hulse.
