Louisiana Tech led a top five that remained unchanged and Texas joined at the bottom to maintain its string of appearances in The Associated Press women’s basketball poll.

A nationwide media panel again made Louisiana Tech a solid choice for No. 1 after the Lady Techsters recorded yet another rout, 101-51 over Texas-Pan American. Georgia remained second and was followed by Connecticut, Stanford and Tennessee.

With its first Top 25 appearance of the season, Texas kept intact its string of being ranked at least once in each of the 20 years the AP poll has existed.
