Jordan Lesamiz led four Okanogan scorers in double figures as the Bulldogs (23-1) beat Goldendale (20-6).

Lesamiz had 18 points, Matt Shiflett 14, Anthony Popelier 12 and Mike Ward 11 as Okanogan stretched its winning streak to 18 games.

Okanogan overcame a 52-48 fourth-quarter deficit by dominating the boards, taking the lead for good at 57-56 on a Lesamiz free throw with 4:11 to go. The taller Bulldogs had a 54-35 rebounding advantage. Okanogan is making its first state Class A tournament appearance since 1970.

David Rohrbacher led the Timberwolves with 27 points.

Jill Pimley’s hit an 18-footer as the final buzzer sounded as Goldendale (20-4) rallied to defeated Montesano (11-16).

The Timberwolves took a 9-0 lead in the first 5 minutes against the only team in the tournament with a losing record.

They didn’t permit the Bulldogs to get as close as six points after that until the final 4:45.

Montesano took its only lead 55-54 on Laura Mattson’s basket with 24 seconds to go.

Pimley had two free throws with 10 seconds left. She made the first to tie the score at 55-55, but missed the second. She wound up with 14 points.

Mattson led Montesano with 20 points.

The Rockets (19-5) rallied from a 35-28 third-quarter deficit to take the lead at 48-47 on Nicholson’s rebound basket with 4:04 remaining. Nicholson scored 18 points in the second half.

The Borderites (20-6) were led by Brenda Dodd’s 21 points and Jenny Dixon’s 13 rebounds.

The Mountain Lions (21-5), making their first Class A state appearance since 1978, led almost the entire game after breaking from a 14-14 deadlock at the end of the first quarter.

Paluck, a 5-10 sophomore forward who averaged 18.3 points during the regular season, connected on 12 of 23 field-goal attempts during a 28-minute, 4-second playing span.

Liz Balch had 27 points on 11-for-16 shooting from the field and Lashaunda Fowler added 20 points for the Bulldogs (20-3).
