Washington State University has signed two Los Angeles junior college transfers to national football letters of intent.
The school said Michael Black and Jeff Banks will enroll and begin attending spring-semester classes this month and will be eligible to play next season.
Black is a 6-foot, 215-pound running back out of Dorsey High School, who played two seasons at West Los Angeles Junior College. He was a two-year team captain.
Banks, a punter and place kicker, played two years at Citrus College, averaging 40 yards a punt. He hit 11 of 18 field goals his sophomore season. He played for Bishop Amat High in Upland, Calif., where the team during his senior season was the 1992 California state champion.
