Work In Timber Program Recognized By Commission

Fred Omodt, Terry Oliver, Doug Bradetich and Shawn Keough were recently awarded the Industry Service Award from the Idaho Forest Products Commission.

The award was in recognition for their work in the Timber Information Program of the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce. The program was noted for its focus on community relations with an emphasis on grass-roots efforts to make a difference in a community that was changing. Projects included North Idaho Timberfest, elementary school Walk in the Woods programs and the Lake Pend O’Reille Bull Trout Project.

Diana Witherspoon, was recently awarded the certified residential specialist designation by the Residential Sales Council of the Realtors National Marketing Institute.

The designation is received after Realtors complete the required courses offered by the Residential Sales Council and demonstrate specific expertise in applied residential real estate marketing. Fewer than 4 percent of all Realtors hold this designation.

Witherspoon is an associate broker with Tomlinson Black North Idaho Inc. and is a member of the Coeur d’Alene Board of Realtors. She is a member of the elite President’s Club of Tomlinson Black Realtors and a member of the Top Producers in the Coeur d’Alene Board of Realtors.

The total number of designees in the United States totals 28,000, with 30 currently on the Coeur d’Alene Board of Realtors.

Jessica Baker, Athol, recently participated in the Bates College Outing Club’s “Peaks Day” mountain climbing and hiking event along the Appalachian Trail in Maine and New Hampshire.

Baker, who scaled Mount Clay in New Hampshire, was one of the 150 students who made a simultaneous climb of 45 mountains along the trail. The Bates Outing Club is also responsible for organizing winter carnivals, maintains 7.2 miles of the Appalachian Trail in Maine and conducts a busy schedule of hikes, ski trips, canoe expeditions and other outdoor activities. Bates College is in Lewiston, Maine.

Baker, a 1995 graduate of Sandpoint High School, is the daughter of Brent and Laura Baker of Sandpoint.
