Blackhawks Leave Kings In A Daze

Associated Press

NHL

Ed Belfour made 23 saves and Eric Daze scored twice as the Chicago Blackhawks beat Los Angeles 5-2 Sunday night in Chicago, in what might have been Wayne Gretzky’s last game with the Kings. Sergei Krivokrasov, Bernie Nicholls and Eric Weinrich also scored for the Blackhawks, who are 11-2-2 overall and 7-1-1 at home since Dec. 17.

Though the Kings deny they are shopping Gretzky, The Toronto Sun has reported that a deal sending the NHL’s all-time scorer to the St. Louis Blues was imminent.
