From Staff And Wire Reports

Consolidated Electronics Inc. of Spokane has signed a joint development agreement with The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) to pursue development of an enhanced high voltage circuit breaker monitor.

EPRI, located in Palo Alto, Calif., is the research arm of the electric utility industry. Consolidated is a manufacturer that holds a patent on the SM6 high voltage circuit breaker monitor.

The monitor is used to eliminate false failure alarms and forecast maintenance needs in high voltage circuit breakers. The enhanced monitor will take the SM6 to a new level of sophistication.

Warren Stacey, vice president of marketing for Consolidated, said the development agreement marks a major step in bringing the company’s products to the attention of the electric utility industry throughout the world.
