The Boss, Ed Bradley Talk It Up On ‘60 Minutes’

From Wire Reports

CBS’ venerable “60 Minutes” will, it turns out, take “no” for an answer.

Provided it comes from Bruce Springsteen.

This Sunday, “60 Minutes” (7 p.m. on Spokane’s KREM-Channel 2) airs the first extended network TV profile of the 46-year-old singer, with reporter Ed Bradley conducting a quick tour of Springsteen’s past and an almost-as-quick look at his new, first-ever solo acoustic tour.

In between, The Boss talks about finding satisfaction in his work, philosophizes about America and walks along the Jersey shore talking about the value of family roots.

But when Bradley asks him how he got involved with his wife, Patti Scialfa - which happened in part while he was still married to his first wife - he hesitates a moment and says, “Oh, do we really have to do this?”

Apparently not.

Later, when Bradley asks him about therapy, Springsteen says it gave him “a greater range of choices.”

“Explain that,” says Bradley.

“I don’t really want to,” says Springsteen.

Springsteen looks very serious for most of the interview and at times a little edgy, though he loosens up when they get to the boardwalk.
