Watch Out, Or He’ll Beat You To A Bloody Pulp

Director Quentin Tarantino (“Reservoir Dogs,” “Pulp Fiction”) certainly is not one to shy away from violence on the big screen.

But how does he feel about it when the cameras aren’t rolling?

“I don’t enjoy it in life at all,” Tarantino told an interviewer. “I never liked fighting. I don’t fight by Marquess of Queensberry rules. When I fight, I fight like I’m trying to kill you, because I am assuming you’re trying to kill me.”

As for firearms, “One of the reasons I don’t have a gun is, if I had a gun and a 12-year-old kid broke into this house, I would kill him. You have no right to come into my house. I have to assume the worst.

“There would be no holding you for cops, no shooting to wound. I would empty the gun until you were dead.”

Loose talk

Madonna’s publicist, dismissing suggestions her new do was inspired by Rachel on “Friends” (in People magazine): “I can’t imagine Madonna walking into a beauty parlor holding up a picture of Jennifer Aniston and saying, ‘Cut my hair like this.”’

It’s safe to say his career has already peaked

Argentines were up in arms as Madonna and the rest of the “Evita” crew arrived to begin filming the less-than-flattering tale of former first lady Evita Peron. One member of Parliament introduced a resolution calling for the entire cast to be declared “personae non grata.”

Must’ve been the sudden changes in altitudes

Jamaican police apologized after opening fire on Jimmy Buffett’s seaplane, carrying the singer and U2 vocalist Bono, as it landed off their coast. An anonymous tip led authorities to believe the plane was involved in drug trafficking.

Sounds like someone was a dope to begin with

The mother of the late porn star Savannah has dropped her lawsuit against veteran rocker Gregg Allman, who she claims led her daughter (real name Shannon Wilsey) into a life of drugs. Wilsey, who committed suicide last year, dated Allman in 1986, when she was 16.

Funny, we thought the Dead usually sold out

Counterculture novelist Ken Kesey in a tribute to dear, departed friend Jerry Garcia (in the New York Times Sunday Magazine): “You were the sworn enemy of hot air and commercials, however righteous the cause or lucrative the product … And to the very end, Old Timer, you were true to that creed. No commercials. No trendy spins.”

And if the Jerry Garcia soft shoe fits, wear it
