Michigan State Violates Rules
Michigan State’s football program will cut back its scholarships and recruiting after an investigation uncovered NCAA rules violations, according to a published report.
The university has not disclosed what infractions were discovered, and it remains unclear whether additional sanctions will be forthcoming from the NCAA, the Lansing (Mich.) State Journal reported.
LaCorey Collins, named the Gatorade player of the year in California after catching 49 passes for 609 yards for Skyline High School in Oakland, Calif., has committed to play football for Oregon.
Collins’ teammate, defensive back-running back Jason Cooper, also said he intends to go to Oregon, which also received commitments from Ray Brust, a 6-foot-4 running back who intends to play wide receiver, from Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Darce Afuvai, a 6-2, 280-pound nose tackle from Ogden, Utah.
