Residents Warned Of Telephone Scam
Kootenai County sheriff’s officials issued a warning Monday asking residents to be wary of a statewide phone scam.
An unknown caller is telephoning people asking for donations to the “Idaho Annual Deputy Fundraiser” in order to buy bulletproof vests and ammunition.
The caller has asked for contributions between $15 and $250, but sheriff’s officials say the fund drive is bogus. Residents from Kootenai and Shoshone counties have been called.
Anyone who receives a call of this type is asked to report it to police. , DataTimes
