Kiwi Wins World Cup Slalom

Claudia Riegler, a 19-year-old New Zealander, won her first women’s World Cup slalom in only her second year on the circuit.

Third after the first run, Riegler stormed down the Olympique Luc Alphand course in the second run to finish first with a two-run combined time of 1 minute 31.27 seconds.

Riegler was followed by Switzerland’s Karin Roten.
