Fire Guts Home In Post Falls

From Staff And Wire Reports

No one was injured Monday when a fire gutted the inside of a Post Falls home.

The fire started at the home at 501 East Mullan Street about 4:10 p.m., said Sgt. Mark Anderson.

When Anderson arrived “flames were showing on the east side of the house and the interior was completely filled with smoke,” he said.

No one was at home when the blaze started, Anderson said. Fire investigators believe the fire started near the water heater and say their preliminary investigation has not turned up any signs of arson.

It took firefighters more than an hour to put out the flames and firefighters still were cleaning up after the blaze at 7 p.m., Anderson said.
