At Phoenix, LaVonnie Wooten was convicted of murdering the pregnant girlfriend of his cousin, former Phoenix Suns player Jerrod Mustaf.

During the two-week trial, both the defense and prosecution have argued that Mustaf ordered the killing because Hayes refused to have an abortion. Police are investigating Mustaf’s involvement.

Georgia (16-2) climbed to the top of The Associated Press women’s basketball poll this week, ending Louisiana Tech’s 10-week run at No. 1.

Louisiana Tech (17-1) dropped to second after losing to third-ranked Tennessee (17-3) last week.
