Greyhound Racing Called ‘A Disaster’

From Staff And Wire Reports

Rep. Delores Crow, R-Nampa, got a bill introduced Tuesday that would ban both greyhound racing and simulcasting of dog races.

“I just plain don’t want any more dog racing in the state of Idaho,” she said.

“It’s been a disaster. We just don’t need that sort of thing.”

A bill introduced earlier by Rep. Jim Stoicheff, D-Sandpoint, would ban dog racing, but allow the Greyhound Park in Post Falls to continue simulcasting of horse and dog racing as if it were still in the racing business.

Under current law, the Post Falls track would have to hold two live races a year to keep its simulcasting license. , DataTimes
