The NCAA placed Alabama A&M on five-years’ probation for rules violations in the men’s soccer and men’s and women’s track and field programs.

The violations involved lack of institutional control, use of ineligible athletes and providing illegal benefits to athletes.

The university faces reductions in scholarships for all three sports for two years, plus a two-year ban on postseason competition. A&M must also give up its 1994 NCAA Division II women’s outdoor track and field championship, plus the indoor title from 1995.
