Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I keep two small lists in my purse calendar, one with everyone’s birthday and one with the names of everyone we buy Christmas gifts for. This way, I can buy items on sale or early gifts and not lose track of them.

I also record how much the gift costs, then I can keep track of gift spending all year long. This saves me from forgetting to buy so-and-so a gift and spending too much on the wrong thing in an effort just to produce a gift.

I also have three large bags in my closet. They are labeled Christmas, Birthday and Miscellaneous. That way, I can find the items once I have purchased them. - Leigh Tomforde, Houston

Dear Heloise: When you have to mail a small fragile object, put it inside of a bag of cotton puffs and wrap securely.

The packing is always usable. - Roberta Loudermik, Indian Lake, Texas
