Land Contest Extended

Wildlife conservation

The deadline for a sportsman-sponsored contest for private landowners who have enhanced wildlife habitat on their property has been extended because of a lack of entries.

“Last year we had a large response to our Wildlife Enhancement Project contest,” said Alan Knott, spokesman for the Inland Empire Chapter of Safari Club International. Prizes in the contest total $500. “We’re not sure what’s happened this year, but we’re committed to rewarding people who go to extra lengths to provide for wildlife on their land.”

The chapter has extended the deadline for entries to Aug. 15. Photos or a video and a description of the habitat enhancement work, whether it’s in a yard or on a farm, should be sent to Knott at 24424 W. Thorpe Rd., Medical Lake, WA 99022. Info: 299-5206. , DataTimes
