The Colorado Avalanche traded defenseman Craig Wolanin to the Tampa Bay Lightning for future considerations.

Wolanin, 29, had seven goals, 20 assists and 50 penalty minutes in 75 games with the Avalanche last season. He has 40 goals, 129 assists and 867 penalty minutes in 647 career games.

Wolanin played five-plus seasons for the former Quebec Nordiques after being acquired from the New Jersey Devils on March 6, 1990. Wolanin played four-plus seasons for the Devils.
