Dear Heloise: Please use your wonderful column as a place to ask people to reduce the amount of scents they use.

Magazines now include perfume samples in them and that has caused me to stop reading them. One of my department-store credit-card bills came scented. I had to call to ask them not to do this to mine, but just being in the mailing with the other bills that were scented caused problems. - Terri Wagner, Canton, Ohio

Did you know you can choose scent-free mailings for some of the major magazines? All you need to do is call the customer service department of any magazine to which you subscribe to see if this is offered. - Heloise
