The Spokane Tigers took first place in the annual Memorial Day Tri-Cities Tournament for men’s teams last weekend.

The Tigers went 5-1, capped by a 6-1 victory over the Tri-City Phoenix in the championship game. Pitcher Eric Bauer had seven strikeouts and allowed just four hits in 7-1/3 innings in the final.

Michael Smith hit .565 (13 of 23) with 10 RBIs, Steve McDonald hit .500 (12 of 24) with one home run and four doubles, and Shawn Mackin batted .450 (9 of 20) with four doubles to lead the Tigers. , DataTimes
