CV Duo Feasts On A Pitching
Nathan Lynch went 4 for 5, and Central Valley teammate Andrew Larson was 3 for 4 as Class AAA blasted Class A 17-1 Saturday in one of three all-state baseball feeder games played at Rogers High.
Lynch and Larson combined for eight runs scored. Brandon Mollet of Ferris had five runs batted in and Mead’s Matt Armitage scored three and drove in two.
The AAA team also beat Class AA 6-1, as Ferris’ Justin McKitterick went 2 for 4 with three RBIs.
In the day’s most competitive game, Cheney’s Chris Conrath had an RBI single in the seventh, and Tim Porter followed with a one-out RBI double as the AA’s beat Class B 6-5.
Nominated for all-state games were Lynch, Larson, McKitterick, Conrath, Davenport’s Tyson Deal, Rosalia’s Brian Maley, Freeman’s Jeremy VanVoorhis, East Valley’s Steve Pipkin, and Mead’s John Barneson and Damian Long.
