Late Charge Keys Shadow Romp
More than halfway through Saturday’s match, the Spokane Shadow trailed 1-0 and appeared to have nothing cooking.
Appearances, in this case, were deceiving.
Chad Brown set up the go-ahead goal and scored the final one as the Shadow rallied to clip the Yakima Reds 5-1 in a USISL match.
Spokane is 6-1 in the Western Conference and 7-2 overall. Yakima is 2-4.
Chris Silvers’ goal at 43 minutes ended a scoreless tie. Spokane broke through on Tim Seely’s goal from midfield at 53 minutes, then dashed away as Zane Higgins, Kenny Krestian, Dave Berto and Brown scored.
The Shadow needed just eight shots on goal to score their fivespot.
Spokane hosts Everett at 5 p.m. today at Spokane Falls Community College.
