Montana Governor Views Flooding
Gov. Marc Racicot got a close-up look at flooding here Thursday as residents anticipated cleanup and reconstruction, even as the Yellowstone River continued to rage over its banks.
Racicot flew over the area and took a ground tour, meeting with disaster-services officials and residents.
Flooding has forced about 150 people from their homes.
The state plans to seek a presidential disaster declaration tied to flooding here and elsewhere in Montana. It would open the way for federal money to help repair public facilities and could lead to loans for homeowners.
