Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Another way to keep and recycle our garbage: I’ve found that cereal boxes make great templates in my quilting projects.

Use the cardboard for the templates and the plastic the cereal is packed in to store them in for future use. Write on the plastic with a large permanent-ink pen so you can tell at a glance what is inside. - LaVerne Passion, Billings, Mont.

Dear Heloise: Those who prepare their address labels on a home computer might consider running duplicate sets of family labels for relatives who are older or who are physically challenged. These clear, printed labels would also help the post office expedite the extra volume of mail during busy holiday seasons.

It would be a thoughtful gift to also make some sets of labels of commonly used addresses for these individuals to use in coming months. This would enable some of the older people to take care of their business more easily. - Robbie Shelton, North Little Rock, Ark. xxxx
