School District Seeking Candidates
The Plummer/Worley School District is seeking citizens to serve on its school board.
Three positions on the seven-member board will be empty by the end of the month, said Karen Stockdale, clerk of the board.
The school district historically has had problems filling the Zone 1 position, which represents the northern end of the 60-mile-long district. That zone is populated by many elderly and summer residents.
The previous Zone 1 trustee, Jenny Matheson, declined to run for office this spring because she has too many commitments, Stockdale said.
Al Walters, the Zone 2 trustee, moved out of his zone, so he had to resign. Susan Montague, the Zone 3 trustee, chose not to run again after serving several years on the board.
The school board meets once a month. The next meeting is July 5. For more information about serving on the board, contact the school district headquarters at 686-1621. , DataTimes
