Man’s Body Found In Spokane River

Gita Sitaramiah

The decomposed body of a man was found Thursday on the south bank of the Spokane River in Peaceful Valley, Spokane Police said.

Sgt. Larry Adams said the man was wearing only camouflage pants and a shoe. Two fishermen spotted the body on the river bank below the 2300 block of West Clark about 2:45 p.m.

Adams wasn’t sure of the man’s identity and said he probably had been in the river for a while. It is unclear whether the body is that of a man who reportedly fell off a bridge earlier this month in Spokane.

On June 4, rescue workers searched the river at Trent and Hamilton for that man. They later called off the search after finding no sign of him.
