Father, Son Killed After Pickup Rolls Over

From Staff And Wire Reports

A father and son were killed when their truck rolled over near Enaville about 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lester Coates, 62, was driving a 1990 GMC pickup north on the Coeur d’Alene River Road about three miles north of Enaville. He was speeding and lost control of his truck when it went off the right shoulder of the road, according to Idaho State Police reports.

The truck went back across the road, rolling several times. It then struck a utility pole on the west side of the road, shearing it off, the ISP reported.

Coates and his son, James, 33, of Cataldo, were thrown from the pickup and killed. Neither was wearing a seat belt. Shoshone County sheriff deputies said said alcohol was involved in the accident. , DataTimes
