Windham To Direct Classical Music Concert Series

Connoisseur Concerts has appointed an artistic director for its summer outdoor concert series, which starts in July.

Verne Windham, KPBX’s classical music director, will be the artistic guide for the series of concerts highlighting the works of Mozart.

The Connoisseur Concerts take place July 23 and 24 at Manito Park, on the lawn just east of Duncan Gardens. The series continues and closes Aug. 2 with “Family Mozart,” which will be held outdoors at the Fort Wright Mukogawa Institute.

Shutterbug show

A landscape photography exhibit opens at Eastern Washington University’s Pence Student Union Gallery on Friday.

The show features the black-and-white prints of two distinguished landscape and nature photographers J. Mark Griffith, who lives in Seattle, and Alan Lemire, who resides in Southern California.

Call for entries

The Kirtland Cutter Gallery, a new gallery housed within the Cutter Theatre in Metaline Falls, opens Aug. 30.

For its grand opening, the museum will host an inaugural juried art exhibition.

Regional artists of all medias, interested in participating in the show, are encouraged to submit slides or photos of their work to the Cutter Theatre.
