Ryan Allen’s bank shot with 3 seconds left Friday gave second-ranked West Valley of Yakima (25-2) a 34-33 win over No. 1 O’Dea in a boys State AA high school basketball tournament semifinal in the Tacoma Dome.
The Rams play Gig Harbor (24-2) in tonight’s title game. Gig Harbor beat Lynden 64-54 in overtime during a late semifinal. O’Dea plays Lynden (19-7) for third or sixth place.
Allen, a 6-foot-3 junior guard, had missed all six of his field-goal attempts against the Fighting Irish (25-3) before the game-winner. O’Dea led 33-32 with :14 left after Shane Makanani’s layin.
