Discounted Water Testing Offered

People tapping private wells for drinking water can get discounted water testing during Field, Forest and Water Week, which begins Monday.

The program is designed to encourage people to start a regular testing program for bacteria and nitrates. It is being sponsored by the KootenaiShoshone Soil Conservation District and the Natural Resource Conservation District as a part of the weeklong open house.

The first five visitors to the Resources Conservation office each day receive a $5 discount on the water test in addition to laboratory discounts. The office is located at 1620 Northwest Blvd., Building B. The district also will have water sample bottles and instructions.

People also are encouraged to visit the office, meet the staff and learn about the Resources Conservation District’s programs. , DataTimes
