Raffle For Playhouses To Benefit Wishing Star

Jim Kershner Staff Writer

Wouldn’t your kids just love their very own castle?

You can win one, or at least a playhouse-sized version of one, during this year’s Playhouse Dream Show, which benefits the Wishing Star Foundation. Seven “dream” playhouses will be raffled off in this annual fund-raiser, which begins Saturday and continues through May 19. Six of them, including a castle and a log playhouse, will be at the Target store, 9770 N. Newport Highway at Northpointe. The seventh, a tug boat design, will be at the Target store in Coeur d’Alene, 315 W. Canfield Ave.

Here’s how it works: Go to either of these locations and let your kids check out the playhouses on display. When they find the one (or ones) that they like, buy a $1 raffle ticket for a chance to win. Don’t worry about getting one of these full-sized playhouses home: Most of them include delivery for people in the area.

All of the playhouses were built by area organizations and donated to the Playhouse Dream Show. Those organizations are: The Spokane Carpenters Union, The Newport Stars, Liberty High School, Richardson Homes, Wolf-Burton Construction, George H. White Inc., and the Coeur d’Alene Carpenters Union.

Wishing Star is a non-profit organization based in Spokane that grants wishes to children facing life-threatening diseases. For more information, call Wishing Star at 744-3411.
