Take Trip Back At Ugly Rumors

It’ll be another night of nostalgia at Ugly Rumors, located in the Mars Hotel. Two ‘50s and ‘60s legends the Drifters and the Box Tops will resurrect their glory days for two shows Thursday at the downtown nightclub.

During their run, the Drifters, one of the most popular vocal groups of that era, spawned a string of hits such as “On Broadway,” “Under the Boardwalk,” “Save the Last Dance for Me,” “This Magic Moment” and “There Goes My Baby.” The Drifters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

The Box Tops made their impact later in the ‘60s with tunes like “The Letter” and “Cry Like a Baby.”

Showtimes are 8 and 10:30 p.m.

Tickets are $38.95 for dinner and seating on the rim, $12.95 for reserved mezzanine seats and $10 for general admission. Ticket prices are the same for the later show except for the rim. Those seats are $15. All tickets are available at the Mars Hotel, 747-6277.
