Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I have been in the field of education for many years and would like to share the fact that I have been recycling cereal boxes to make stencil patterns and projects.

Patterns are used for various letters, designs and general vocabulary such as a jack-o’-lantern or apple.

Cereal boxes are better than used folders for little hands. They are more durable.

My students also learn to be creative and observe that it does not take much money or commercial materials to be effective in the learning process. - Rosemary Saucedo, San Antonio

What a great idea! For more arts and crafts projects, get my Arts & Crafts booklet by sending $2 and a long, self-addressed, stamped (55 cents) envelope to: Heloise/Arts & Crafts, PO Box 795001, San Antonio TX 78279-5001. - Heloise
