Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: My family has enjoyed reading your column and books for many years, as well as your mother’s before you. Here is a hint that I don’t recall reading. I hope you find it as useful as I do.

I use lightweight paper plates as cutting boards. After cutting up the vegetables, meat, etc. the plate bends to funnel the food into the container. No mess, no cleanup. - Shirlee R. Schupbach, Ennis, Texas

Dear Heloise: One day, after breaking a glass, I thought, I can’t just throw this away because the trash men will get cut or it could break through the plastic and make a mess.

Now, I just put my broken glass in coffee cans or those thick microwave popping-corn sacks. It works great and there are no messy spills or cut fingers. - Amanda Todd, Junction City, Kan.
